Newly Graduated Officers
June 14, 2019
To: Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers,
I am honored to serve you in 2019/2020 as your President of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers’ Association. All board members of the association bring experience, knowledge, expertise, and talent to help our association achieve the best training in the nation. I have had the privilege of working with the board members for several years, and the training that is provided each year would not be successful without the help of our board members.
I am honored to continue to serve the members of this association. I will continue to try to move the association forward by offering different types of training, just as each of the previous Presidents have done. This will be done with help from both, the members of the Executive Board and the current members. The only way that we can make MLEOA grow is by working together and encouraging others and their departments to join.
Our association is open to all law enforcement officers in Mississippi and is designed to train, support, and protect our officers in blue. As our spring and summer conferences continue to grow, I hope to see more members take advantage of the great training and fellowship. I would like to continue partnering with as many agencies throughout the state of Mississippi as possible, so that we can increase memberships while communicating and supporting one another in training.
MLEOA will continue to work with our legislators to look out for the best interest for law enforcement officers’. We will continue to be a voice in Jackson regarding proposed legislation which affects us in our jobs, and how we provide safety to those we serve. We will also continue to work towards improving our retirement options and benefits where we can.
Just a little bit about me, I have been in law enforcement since 2002 and a member of MLEOA since 2008. I have served on the Executive Board since 2013, in the capacity of Board of Directors, Southern Vice President, and 1st Vice President for the last two years.
I want to thank each and every member of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers' Association for giving me the opportunity to serve you. I look forward to seeing you at our conferences and trainings. Even if you don't attend one of the scheduled classes, we would love to fellowship with you at any of our events scheduled. Feel free to contact me or any of our board members about the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers’ Association. I am confident with us working together, we will achieve even more in the future.
Chad E. Young
President of MLEOA
